Checking out jobs in Canada

I love Canada - I think it's a great place and I at some point have wanted to live and work up there for awhile. I've decided that perhaps that time is now. I checked out a bunch of jobs last night and am toying with the idea of applying.

I see this as a bit of a cop-out, running away from the little mess that I've made out of my life lately. But, it's also a complete chance of starting over, re-inventing myself. It's either this or go back to school, which isn't out of the question after dishing out a whooping $650 for student loans this month (hello deferment!).

Unreal, I am actually in Markham Ontario right now. I am in a training class at the Mac center here. I'm really from New York state, and so far the Toronto area hasn't been that bad at all. I could see working here.

I heard Toronto's a nice place - a bit busy though. Anywhere that's not the states right now!

Have fun in Canada!

Canada is a beautiful country and their values are more progressive than the United States. Beware of the smow fall. The snow you get in December is still on the ground in April. Of course, that is probably the same for Wisconsin.

I hope you find what you are looking for. What are you looking for?

I'm not really sure ... an escape I guess. I was out with a friend tonight that said everytime he felt like running away he realized that what he was running away from wasn't worth it. I think I'm looking for me ...

The hardest part of life is figuring out who you are versus who others want you to be. The moment I found me made all the difference...no more destructive behaviors, lots more smiles and laughter. I changed states 2 times and didn't find me till I was 28 but you are out there.

AMEN! I went through the same process. I love Canada (and would love to live there if it weren't so f*cking cold). We need a country like that in the Caribbean; I'd be all set. I moved to Norfolk, VA, in an effort to help out my sister. Little did I know I ended up moving to a city where the men outnumber the women. I'm glad I did. Being relatively attractive, having a degree, no kids and no drama allowed me the pick of the litter. And I caught a good one! Of course, he travels a lot for work, but that gives me the time to work on the me I was able to discover not too long ago. :-)

Hmmm, perhaps I shouldn't run out of the country and just to Norfolk? Have to look into that ...

I just reread my comment. And, boy, do I sound conceited! hahaha I'm really not. I just had horrible luck in Boston. There are so many men down here, it's ridiculous. If you change your profile to Norfolk or VA Beach -- you will have like 30 winks and emails the next day. It's insane. That's actually how I met Lt. The women down here are in short supply (particularly of the educated caliber). Not quite metropolitan (all the bars/clubs are in strip malls), but parking is easy and drinks are usually on the men! (Gotta love the South.)
